This female blue grouse was very cooperative as I took photos of her for about five minutes. She even came within three feet of me, curious about my presence in her forest. Absaroka Range, Wyoming.

This full sized turkey was seen at the Rocky Mountain National Park with other normally colored wild turkeys. A NPS ranger identified it as a 'Golden Turke', stating they are very rare and only one or two are seen at the park occasionally during the year -every year. I can find no record of such a bird anywhere. It is a combination of butterscotch and white colors.

These American Avocets, a second Washtenaw County record, were found by Don Chalfant on June 30, 2010. They were at the Schneider Rd. pond (Schneider Rd. and Pleasant Lake Rd.) through at least early afternoon.

I found this indigo bunting nest about 18 inches off the ground in a Napoleon Twp woodlot. I was removing garlic mustard and found the nest attached to garlic mustard and another plant. I'm wondering if the chicks are buntings or cowbirds. Anyone know?
