Dawson Creek, BC Flew over (at 6500 ft) Dawson Creek, BC which is "Mile 0" of the Alaska Highway, enroute to Fort St. John, BC. If you double click on the photo, it will enlarge enough that you can just make out some aircraft on the ramp getting fuel. They are 6 light aircraft (4 Rans S6's, a CT Design, and a C140)pilots getting fuel on their way north from Oklahoma to Alaska. I met up with them in Whitehorse while we were all on our way home. |

Home for Night Free pilot shack and pilot car courtesy of Geordie Fife of Skynorth Av Fuels. Geordie goes out of his way to service, assist and generally be kind to fellow pilots. This is a "must stop" and this is where I fueled at Fort Nelson both ways. I sure appreciated the free room and use of the vintage land yacht (ran great). |
