Barry Gonder has participated as a judge for over a dozen years at the annual Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC). This year, the competition was held at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8, 2017. The VCIC finals are the culmination of regional and local competitions among MBA students with over 70 universities competing from around the globe. The competition is an interactive simulation of the Venture Capital process in which MBA students act as VCs and are pitch by actual entrepreneurs. The judges evaluate the student’s performance through each step of the process including due diligence, evaluation of alternatives and negotiation of term sheets and each team presents their investment recommendation to an investment committee of the judges.
