Investment Professional

GSA is seeking post-MBAs, or candidates with similar seniority, for potential career track positions. We are recruiting 1-2 individuals to work alongside the Managing Partners supporting the firm’s core fund and direct investment activities as well as business development initiatives. The responsibilities, title and compensation will depend on experience and qualifications of the successful candidates.
On a day-to-day basis, the individual may be responsible for sourcing and screening fund and direct investment opportunities alongside the partners, attending presentations by prospective fund GPs, evaluating the trajectory of unrealized portfolio companies through research and due diligence calls with portfolio CEOs and co-investors, evaluating partnership agreements, monitoring investment performance and undertaking general industry analysis. The individual may also support the Partners in the firm’s business development activities. Specific responsibilities may include:

• Working with GSA’s Partners in obtaining and reviewing fund information materials to understand investment strategies and prior investment performance of investment managers.
• Conducting due diligence phone calls and meetings as part of the investment decision and discussing these results at GSA’s Investment Committee meetings.
• Analyzing private equity industry trends and changing characteristics in client portfolios and creating presentations for periodic client meetings.

Over time candidates will be expected to take a leadership role in analysis of specific investment opportunities, investment sectors and/or geographies and will build direct relationships with the fund management teams in the portfolio.

This position is ideally designed for a candidate who has completed or is completing an MBA degree from a top tier institution and has meaningful relevant work experience (e.g. private equity, management consulting, investment banking, investment management or small company/ entrepreneurial). The individual should have the ability to build good personal relationships and work closely and credibly with the firm’s partners and clients. This individual should be a self-starter and a leader with the ability to motivate others within an entrepreneurial firm. He/she should have strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.

Compensation will be competitive for the industry and includes carried interest and participation in a profit sharing 401K plan.
